Even though I am now living in Australia and whether school time should be shortened or not is not my business, I still look forward to expounding my standpoint; School time should be shortened to eight hours.Staying at school too long is a waste of time. It is true that learning at school is very important for every student, but I think it is also important for students learning at home. In Australia, even high school students, do not need to arrive at school before half past eight in the morning, and in the afternoon, students leave school at three o"clock. Even though it seems that six hours is even shorter than in China (We also have a one –hour recess and half-hour lunch time during the six-hour school time), it is enough. I do not think that during six hours, we learn less than Chinese students learning during 10 more hours. The most important thing that our teacher never wastes one second to say something useless, concurrently, they never need to strengthen students" discipline as Chinese common teachers-never. Therefore I can promise that we Australian students can learn much more than Chinese in the same period of time. In other words, Chinese students learn even less than us although they have 10 more-hour school-times as a consequence of their inefficient classes. What makes Chinese students" classes inefficient? The villain is their teachers. They spend almost half of student"s class-time in strengthening students" discipline and saying something useless. This causes students learn extremely little in a one-hour class. Thus, to make their student can learn as much as other countries" students, educators have to increase students" school time.
