《Anne’s best friend》 。

This essay started by introducing Anne and Anne"s best friend: her diary. After introducing the diary and explaining why the diary is her best friend, it started to describe Anne"s background: who she was and where she came from. Anne and her family are Jews that lived in Amsterdam, Netherlands during World War 2. The Nazis were arresting Jews and locking them away so Anne"s family decided to hide in a safe place. They were found two years later and during these two years, Anne had continued to write in her diary. Her diary recorded the crimes that the Nazis had done and her feelings during this period of time. At the end, the essay include the last entry of her diary. In the last entry, it recorded Anne"s feeling toward nature: how she likes it and how she yearned for it. Anne is a poor child and World War 2 is basically a catastrophe for mankind. I hope that it would never happen again.

1 Anne"s Best Friend Do you want a friend whom you could tell everything to, like your deepest feelings and thoughts? Or are you afraid that your friend would laugh at you, or would not understand what you are going through? Anne Frank wanted the first kind, so she made her diary her best friend. Anne lived in Amsterdam in the Netherlands during World War Ⅱ. Her family was Jewish so nearly twenty-five months before they were discovered. During that time the only true friend was her diary. She said, ”I don"t want to set down a series of facts in a diary as most people do, but I want this diary itself to be my friend, and I shall call my friend Kitty.” Now read how she felt after being in the hiding place since July 1942. Thursday 15th June, 1944 Dear Kitty, I wonder if it"s because I haven"t been able to be outdoors for so long that I"ve grown so crazy about everything to do with nature. I can well remember that there was a time when a deep blue sky, the song of the birds, moonlight and flowers could never have kept me spellbound. That"s changed since I was here. …For example, one evening when it was so warm, I stayed awake on purpose until half past eleven in order to have a good look at the moon by my self. But as the moon gave far too much light, I didn"t dare open a window. Another time five months ago, I happened to be upstairs at dusk when the window was open. I didn"t go downstairs until the window bad to be shut. The dark, rainy evening, the wind, the thundering clouds held me entirely in their power; it was the first time in a year and a half that I"d seen the night face to face… …Sadly …I am only able to look at nature through dirty curtains hanging before very dusty windows. It"s no pleasure looking through these any longer because nature is one thing that really must be experienced. Nearly all of them lived in England. Later in the next century, people from England made voyages to conquer other parts of the world, and because of that, English began to be spoken in many other countries. Today, more people speak English as their first, second or a foreign language than ever before. Native English speakers can understand each other even if they don"t speak the same kind of English. Look at this example: British Betty: Would you like to see my flat? American Amy: Yes. I"d like to come up to you apartment. So why has English changed over time? Actually all languages change and develop when cultures meet and communicate with each other. At fist the English spoken in England between about AD 450 and 1150 was very different from the English spoken today. It was base more on German than the English we speak at present. Then gradually between about AD 500 and 1150, English became less like German because those who ruled England spoke first Danish and later French. These new settlers enriched the English language and especially its vocabulary. So by the 1600"s Shakespeare was able to make use of a wider vocabulary than ever before. In 1620 some British settlers moved to America. Later in the 18th century some British people were taken to Australia to. English began to be spoken in both countries. Finally by the 19th century the language was settled. At that time two big changes in English spelling happened: first Samuel Johnson wrote his dictionary and later Noah Webster wrote The American Dictionary of the English language. The latter gave a separate identity to American English spelling. English now is also spoken as a foreign or second language in South Asia. For example, India has a very large number of fluent English speakers because Britain ruled India from 1765 to 1947. During that time English became the language for government and education. English is also spoken in Singapore and Malaysia and countries in Africa such as South Africa. Today the number of people learning English in China is increasing rapidly. In fact, China may have the largest number of English learners. Will Chinese English develop its own identity? Only time will tell. 3 Journey Down the Mekong My name is Wang Kun. Ever since middle school, my sister Wang Wei and I have dreamed about taking a great bike trip. Two years ago she bought an expensive mountain bike and then she persuaded me to buy one. Last year, she visited our cousins, Dao Wei and Yu Hang at their college if Kunming. They are Dai and grew up in western Yunnan Province near the Lancang River, the Chinese part of the river that is called the Mekong River in other countries. Wang Wei soon got time interested in cycling too. After graduating from college, we finally got the chance to take a bike trip. I asked my sister, “Where are we going?” It was my sister who first had the idea to cycle along the entire Mekong River from where it begins to where it ends. Now she is planning our schedule for the trip. I am fond of my sister but she has one serious shortcoming. She can be really stubborn. Although she didn"t know the best way of getting to places, she insisted that she organize the trip properly. Now I know that the proper way is always her way. I kept asking her, “When are we leaving and when are we coming back?” I asked her whether she had looked at a map yet. Of course she hadn"t; my sister doesn"t care about details. So I told her that the source of the Mekong is in Qinghai Province. She gave me a determined look -- the kind that said she would not change her mind. When I told her that our journey would begin at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, she seemed to be excited about it. When I told her the air would be hard to breathe and it would be very cold, she said it would be an interesting experience. I know my sister well. Once she has made up her mind, nothing can change it. Finally, I had to give in. Several months before our trip, Wang Wei and I went to the library. We found a large atlas with good maps that showed details of world geography. From the atlas we could see that the Mekong River begins in a glacier to move quickly. It becomes rapids as it passes through deep valleys, traveling across western Yunnan Province. Sometimes the river becomes a water fall and enters wide valleys. We were both surprised to learn that half of the river is in China. After it leaves China and high altitude, the Mekong becomes wide, brown and warm. As it enters Southeast Asia, its pace slows. It makes wide bends or meanders through low valleys to the plains where rice grows. At last, the river delta enters the South China Sea.

Now I would like to recommend this book! The Green Gables farmhouse sibling Matthew and Malila decided to adopt a boy, but a strange combination of circumstances, the orphanage brought a love fantasy, chatter without stop redhead girl -- Anne. Her unique personality makes her more trouble and a simmer with laughter, change a brother and sister, affects the pair of love. Anne is clever, diligent, with their own efforts to obtain University, but in order to take care of Malila, she quit school. As long as you use a tolerance, good heart to treat each person, and you will find the life is so happy, we, like Anne, happy to spend every day, the courage to overcome every difficulty. I would also like Anne, with a tolerance of the heart to face everyone. If each of us like Anne, then the world will be so beautiful! This book lets me know everyone to be confident, to work, to gain the respect of others! As long as you work hard, you will do it. We have learnt "Anne of the Green Gables" for a long time. Anne, the little fairy with red hair has an optimism nature and a rich imagination. She always keeps a positive attitude. She had made a lot of jokes because of her innocence and fantasy, but her kindness and forthright also earned her friendship and true love. She loves the life, the nature and everything around her. This kind of love also rewards her at any time. Anne is an optimistic, brave girl. No matter what had happened, she always thinking about things in a good way. There is not perfume of flowers everywhere in a successful path. Anne"s childhood is unfortunate. She lost her parents when she was a child and had to be sent to the orphanage. We all know that orphanage is a terrible place. It means that you have no parents, no relatives; no people in the world will love you, even the nuns can not take good care of you. But Anne is still happy. She is na?ve and enthusiasm and full of romantic imagination. In her imagination, naughty streams under the ice and snow can laugh; rose can tell us a lot of interesting story. She also regards her own shadow and echo as two close friends and talk to them. When I read the book, I always feel warm about Anne. Anne"s dreams are beautiful and innocent. It"s a world full of imagination and romantic, full of wonderful and sweet, full of unprecedented magic and joy. However, due to her imagination and vanity, Anne met a serious of trouble. She constantly made mistakes and corrected them. Just as she said “since I came to Green Gables I"ve been making mistakes, and each mistakes has helped to cure me of some great shortcoming.” When she decided to stay with Marilla instead of going to college, she said “I"m just as ambitious as ever. Only, I"ve changed the object of my ambitions. I shall give life here my best, and I believe it will give its best to me in return.” Anne loves life, she loves everything in the world even a flower of nature, a tree or a grasshopper. She is kind to everyone, from her relatives to the strangers, from her teacher to her friends. She was crazy for knowledge and learning and her spirit of hardworking is moving. She is lively and lovely, rational and brave; full of passion that seems will never extinguish. Her kindness, purity, enthusiasm, and optimism won people" like, won the teachers" appreciation and classmates" friendship. Optimism can lead people out of trouble. As long as you face the world with an optimistic heart, you will discover how brilliant the sunshine is. We should learn to smile, we should learn to imagine. We should always keep hoping and fighting. If we give the life a smile the life will respond to us a smile, and brings us hope. So let"s follow Anne" steps, with a positive attitude to meet every challenge in the life, to across the obstacles and break through the hurdles, to fight for our beautiful dream 绿山墙的安妮英文读后感 The 《Anne Of Green Gables》is one of my favorite books.I was moved by the lovely Anne"s passion at her life.

Anne of Green Gables is a bestselling novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery published in 1908. It was written as fiction for readers of all ages, but in recent decades has been considered a children"s book. Montgomery found her inspiration for the book on an old piece of paper that she had written at a young age, describing a couple that were mistakenly sent an orphan girl instead of a boy, yet decided to keep her. Montgomery also drew upon her own childhood experiences in rural Prince Edward Island. Montgomery used a photograph of Evelyn Nesbit, clipped from an American magazine and pasted on the wall above her writing desk, as the model for Anne Shirley, the book"s main character. Since publication, Anne of Green Gables has sold more than 50 million books. In addition, this widely loved book is taught to students around the world. Plot summary Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, unmarried middle-aged siblings who live together at Green Gables, a farm in the town of Avonlea, on Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt a boy from an orphan asylum in Nova Scotia as a helper on their farm. Through a series of mishaps, the person who ends up under their roof is a precocious girl of eleven named Anne Shirley. Anne is bright and quick, eager to please but dissatisfied with her name, her pale countenance dotted with freckles, and with her long braids of red hair. Being a child of imagination, however, Anne takes much joy in life, and adapts quickly, thriving in the environment of Prince Edward Island. She is something of a chatterbox, and drives the prim, duty-driven Marilla to distraction, although shy Matthew falls for her immediately. The rest of the book recounts her continued education at school, where she excels in studies very quickly, her budding literary ambitions and her friendships with people such as Diana Barry (her best friend, "bosom friend" as Anne fondly calls her), Jane Andrews, Ruby Gillis, and her rivalry with Gilbert Blythe, who teases her about her red hair and for that acquires her hatred, although he apologizes many times. Anne and Gilbert compete in class and Anne one day realizes she no longer hates Gilbert, but will not admit it. The book also follows her misadventures in quiet, old-fashioned Avonlea. These adventures include her games with her friendship group (Diana, Jane and Ruby), her rivalries with the Pye sisters (Gertie and Josie) and her domestic mistakes such as dyeing her hair green. Anne, along with Gilbert, Ruby, Josie, Jane and several other students, eventually goes to the Queen"s Academy and obtains a teaching license in one year, in addition to winning the Avery Prize in English, which allows her to pursue a B.A. at Redmond College. The book ends with Matthew"s death, caused by a heart attack after learning of the loss of all his and Marilla"s money. Anne shows her devotion to Marilla and Green Gables by giving up the Avery Prize, deciding to stay at home and help Marilla, whose eyesight is diminishing, and teaching at the Carmody school, the nearest school available. To show his friendship, Gilbert Blythe gives up his teaching position in the Avonlea School to work at White Sands School instead, thus enabling Anne to teach at the Avonlea School and stay at Green Gables all through the week. After this kind act, Anne and Gilbert become best friends.

You"ve never had any children yourself, so how can you look after her ?" Just then Anne ran in from the garden. She stopped suddenly when she saw a stranger(n.陌生人;外地人;局外人) in the kitchen. Mrs Lynde looked at the thin little girl in the short dress, with her freckled face and red hair. "Isn"t she thin ,Marilla ? The child was lying on her narrow (adj. "You mustn"t get angry like that, Anne ,Mrs Lynde is my friend, and you were very rude to her." “你没必要那么生气,安妮。林德太太是我的好朋友,而且你对她太没礼貌了。” "She was rude to me !" said Anne. "She said I was thin and freckled and red-haired. It was very unkind!" “是她先对我失礼的!”安妮争辩道。“她说我是瘦小枯干,还长着雀斑何红头发。这也太刻薄了!” "I understand how you feel ," said Marilla. Then you can come down, and we can all be happy." “安妮,”他有些难为情地说道,“你为什么不肯道歉呢?那样你就可以下楼去,我们大家都可以高高兴兴的了。” "I am sorry now," said Anne, "I was very angry yesterday ! anne frank是谁?

Anne Frank was born into a Jewish family in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 12, 1929. She lived in Frankfurt with her father, Otto; her mother, Edith; and her older sister, Margot. Then, in 1933, her life in Germany began to change. The country had a new leader named Adolf Hitler. Hitler taught hatred and intolerance toward Jews and all other people who were not of his race or who did not share his beliefs. Hitler"s followers were known as the Nazis. Hitler"s acts of hatred toward the Jews troubled Anne Frank"s father greatly. He was worried for his family"s well-being. In 1933 Otto Frank decided to move his wife and daughters to the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Amsterdam offered the Franks a new business opportunity and a safe place to raise their children. Anne Frank was not affected much by this change in her life. She started a new school, made friends, and visited the ocean on vacation. In 1940 the Germans invaded the Netherlands. One year later they began to take Jewish people from their homes and send them to concentration camps, or prisons, in Germany. Otto Frank was ready for this attack on the Jewish population in Amsterdam. While some Jews tried to leave the country, Anne"s father prepared a secret hiding place for his family. On July 5, 1942, the Nazis sent out an order for Margot Frank to be arrested. To prevent this, the Franks went into hiding. Anne Frank could bring only a few items with her to the hiding place. She brought pictures of movie stars, books, and a diary her parents had given her on her thirteenth birthday. Anne Frank"s diary became an important record of the Franks" years in hiding. Anne Frank"s diary Their hiding place was part of a house attached to Mr. Frank"s place of business. The Secret Annex, as Anne Frank called it in her diary, became home to eight people. Another Jewish family, the Van Pels, lived there along with the Franks. Later, an older man named Fritz Pfeffer joined the two families. A few friends and employees of Anne"s father provided the people in the Secret Annex with food and news from the outside. For two years the people in the Secret Annex lived in constant fear of being caught by the Nazis. During the day, when people were working in the building, they sat quietly and moved very little. Only at night could they walk around and talk freely. In the end, all their careful ways could not save them. On August 4, 1944, the families in the Secret Annex were discovered by the Nazis. A phone call from an unknown person had given away the Franks" hiding place. For the next seven months, Anne Frank and her family were moved from one concentration camp to another. Her mother died at Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland. Anne Frank and her sister, Margot, were moved to the concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen in Germany. Many of the prisoners at Bergen-Belsen were dying from disease. With little to eat and only rags to wear in the cold winter, the sisters became ill. Anne and Margot Frank died at Bergen-Belsen in March 1945. Margot Frank was 19, and Anne Frank was 15. Anne Frank"s father was the only person from the Secret Annex to survive the war. After his release from Auschwitz, he traveled back to Amsterdam. A friend of the family had rescued a few of the Frank"s belongings, including his daughter"s diary. In the summer of 1947, Anne"s father decided to publish her diary. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl has given a voice to all the Jewish people who lost their lives during World War II. Anne Frank"s diary continues to remind readers how important it is to love and respect others and to allow them to lead their lives in peace. June 12, 1942I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support. COMMENT ADDED BY ANNE ON SEPTEMBER 28, 1942: So far you truly have been a areat source of comfort to me, and so has Kitty, whom I now write to regularly. This way of keeping a diary is much nicer, and now I can hardly wait for those moments when I"m able to write in you. Oh, I"m so alad I brought you along! SUNDAY, JUNE 14, 1942 I"ll begin from the moment I got you, the moment I saw you lying on the table among my other birthday presents. (I went along when you were bought, but that doesn"t count.) On Friday, June 12, I was awake at six o"clock, which isn"t surprising, since it was my birthday. But I"m not allowed to get up at that hour, so I had to control my curiosity until quarter to seven. When I couldn"t wait any longer, I went to the dining room, where Moortje (the cat) welcomed me by rubbing against my legs. A little after seven I went to Daddy and Mama and then to the living room to open my presents, and you were the first thing I saw, maybe one of my nicest presents. Then a bouquet of roses, some peonies and a potted plant. From Daddy and Mama I got a blue blouse, a game, a bottle of grape juice, which to my mind tastes a bit like wine (after all, wine is made from grapes), a puzzle, a jar of cold cream, 2.50 guilders and a gift certificate for two books. I got another book as well, Camera Obscura (but Margot already has it, so I exchanged mine for something else), a platter of homemade cookies (which I made myself, of course, since I"ve become quite an expert at baking cookies), lots of candy and a strawberry tart from Mother. And a letter from Grammy, right on time, but of course that was just a coincidence. Then Hanneli came to pick me up, and we went to school. During recess I passed out cookies to my teachers and my class, and then it was time to get back to work. I didn"t arrive home until five, since I went to gym with the rest of the class. (I"m not allowed to take part because my shoulders and hips tend to get dislocated.) As it was my birthday, I got to decide which game my classmates would play, and I chose volleyball. Afterward they all danced around me in a circle and sang "Happy Birthday." When I got home, Sanne Ledermann was already there. Ilse Wagner, Hanneli Goslar and Jacqueline van Maarsen came home with me after gym, since we"re in the same class. Hanneli and Sanne used to be my two best friends. People who saw us together used to say, "There goes Anne, Hanne and Sanne." I only met Jacqueline van Maarsen when I started at the Jewish Lyceum, and now she"s my best friend. Ilse is Hanneli"s best friend, and Sanne goes to another school and has friends there. They gave me a beautiful book, Dutch Sasas and Lesends, but they gave me Volume II by mistake, so I exchanged two other books for Volume I. Aunt Helene brought me a puzzle, Aunt Stephanie a darling brooch and Aunt Leny a terrific book: Daisy Goes to the Mountains. This morning I lay in the bathtub thinking how wonderful it would be if I had a dog like Rin Tin Tin. I"d call him Rin Tin Tin too, and I"d take him to school with me, where he could stay in the janitor"s room or by the bicycle racks when the weather was good. 望采纳,谢谢!

anne of green gables英文梗概

Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, unmarried middle-aged siblings who live together at Green Gables, a farm in the village of Avonlea, on Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt a boy from an orphan asylum in Nova Scotia as a helper on their farm. Through a series of mishaps, the person who ends up under their roof is a precocious girl of eleven named Anne Shirley. Anne is bright and quick, eager to please and talkative, but dissatisfied with her name, her pale countenance dotted with freckles, and with her long braids of red hair. Although wishing she was named Cordelia, she insists that if you are to call her Anne, it must be spelt with an "E", as it is "so much more distinguished." Being a child of imagination, however, Anne takes much joy in life, and adapts quickly, thriving in the environment of Prince Edward Island. Anne and Gilbert compete in class and Anne one day realizes she no longer hates Gilbert, but will not admit it; at the end of the book, they both become very good friends. The book also follows her misadventures in quiet, old-fashioned Avonlea. These adventures include her games with her friends (Diana, Jane and Ruby), her rivalries with the Pye sisters (Gertie and Josie) and her domestic mistakes such as dyeing her hair green. After this kind act, Anne and Gilbert become friends.

anne of green gables英文梗概

After this kind act, Anne and Gilbert become friends.

Before I was myself you made me, me With dreams enough of what I was to be And hopes that would be sculpted by the years, Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free, Relinquishing your powers gradually To let me shape myself among my peers. Before I was myself you made me, me, And being good and wise, you gracefully As dancers when the last sweet cadence nears Bit by bit stepped back to set me free. For love inspires learning naturally: The mind assents to what the heart reveres. And so it was through love you made me, me By slowly stepping back to set me free. 4. 关于母亲节的英语诗句 世界上的一切光荣和骄傲,都来自母亲.(高尔基) All the world of glory and pride from his mother.(Golgi) 母爱是一种巨大的火焰.(罗曼·罗兰) Motherly love is a huge flame.(Romain Rolland) 世界上有一种最美丽的声音,那便是母亲的呼唤.(但丁) The world there is a most beautiful voice, and that is the call of the mother.(Dante) 慈母的胳膊是慈爱构成的,孩子睡在里面怎能不甜?(雨果) Mother is the charity arm of the composition, the children could not sleep in it sweet?(Hugo) 人的嘴唇所能发出的最甜美的字眼,就是母亲,最美好的呼唤,就是“妈妈”.(纪伯伦) Person"s lips can be issued by the sweet words, that is,mother, best call is the "mother." the attention of the public was continually (?)to new possibilities in scienti

Valley of the Dolls is the title of a best selling novel by Jacqueline Susann, published in 1966, the Hollywood film which followed it in 1967, and the 1994 late-night, syndicated television soap opera. It is widely considered one of the most commercially successful novels of all time.BookValley of the Dolls was an instant success when it was first published. Since then it has sold more than 30 million copies. As the first roman à clef by a female author to achieve this level of sales in America, it led the way for other authors such as Jackie Collins to depict the private lives of the real-life rich and famous under a veneer of fiction.PlotSpoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. The book and film tell the story of three young women who meet when all are embarking on the beginning of their careers. Neely O"Hara is a plucky kid with undeniable talent who is working in a Broadway play which stars the legendary actress Helen Lawson. Jennifer North, a beautiful blonde with limited talent is appearing in the chorus. Anne Welles has recently arrived from New England with hopes of success in New York City and she is working for an agency that represents Helen Lawson. The three women become fast friends, and share a bond of ambition and the tendency to be involved with the wrong men.In the film version, O"Hara becomes a major success and goes to Hollywood where a lucrative film career follows, but almost immediately falls victim to the "dolls" of the title - prescription drugs, particularly Seconal, Nembutal and various stimulants. Her career is shattered by her erratic behaviour and she finds herself in a sanatorium.Meanwhile Jennifer has followed her to Hollywood and married nightclub singer Tony Polar. He is afflicted with a Huntington"s chorea and his care results in mounting medical expenses. In the book, Polar"s half-sister explains that the condition he has is congenital, convincing Jennifer to have an abortion, although she"d planned to keep the child after divorcing Polar for unfaithfulness. In the film, Jennifer finds herself working in "art movies" to pay Polar"s medical bills; in the book, Polar"s sister pays his expenses out of his own savings, and Jennifer decides independently to do French art house films, since she is only highly regarded for her body.Anne has fared the best of all three, having become a highly successful model. She too falls under the allure of the "dolls" and uses them to escape the reality of her relationship with her lover, who continues to have affairs after their marriage. Jennifer tries to turn her back on her "art movie" career and forms a relationship with a young Senator, but when diagnosed with breast cancer, she finds that even this man cares only for her body, so she commits suicide with an overdose of "dolls". Neely is given one more chance to straighten up and resume her career, but the attraction of the "dolls" is too strong and she seems to spiral into a final decline. In the film, Anne manages to escape and abandons both her unfaithful lover and the "dolls" to return to New England; this "happy ending" was cobbled together by studio demands for a happy ending, and none of it is in the book, where Anne stays with Lyon after his affair with Neely and comes increasingly under the influence of the dolls. Writer Harlan Ellison, who wrote the original screenplay, took his name off the project because of the ending and the watering-down of his realistic adaptation of the story.Much of the narrative is drawn from the author"s experiences and observations as a struggling actress in the Hollywood of the early forties. The character of Neely O"Hara with her excess of talent coupled with her self-destructive alcoholism and dependency on prescription drugs, is said to be based upon Judy Garland. Garland was originally cast in the movie as Helen Lawson (based on Ethel Merman, whom Susann had known personally - and reportedly had been involved with), until Garland"s unpredictable behaviour led to her dismissal. O"Hara"s treatment in the sanitariums is a milder version of the fate that befell actress Frances Farmer. The tragic character of Jennifer North is said to be based upon actress/pin-up girl Carole Landis, who had been a friend of the author during their Hollywood days. Like Jennifer, Landis was seen as an ambitious blonde with little real talent, and after a series of failed relationships and a career that had quickly stagnated, she committed suicide with an overdose of barbiturates. She is also said to be based on Marilyn Monroe. The character of Tony Polar is rumored to be based on Frank Sinatra, but Susann herself was quoted in her biography saying that she got the idea for Polar after trying to interview Dean Martin after one of his shows; he was too engrossed in a comic book to pay attention to her.MovieThe subsequent film, produced by David Weisbart and directed by Mark Robson, received a great deal of publicity during its production. Upon release it was a commercial success, though universally panned by critics. It was re-released in 1969 following the murder of star Sharon Tate, and once again proved commercially viable. In the years since its production it has come to be regarded as a camp classic. Barbara Parkins, attending a special screening of the film at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, told the sold-out crowd, "I know why you like it... because it"s so bad!"[1] The movie was remade in 1981 for television as Jacqueline Susann"s Valley of the Dolls. Also, the late soap opera actress Darlene Conley had a bit part in the movie as a desk manager at a rehearsal hall that Anne was delivering contracts to.

Anne Of Green Gables_

Anne, the Green Gables, is a sweet description of children"s lives. This book mainly tells us: Matthew and marera are living in plain life in Green Gables. In order to find a helper for Matthew, who had a heart attack, they were going to adopt a boy from an orphanage, and the orphanage was sending a red hair. The chattering eleven year old girl, Anne. Little Anne was naive and passionate, full of romantic imagination. In her imagination, the naughty brook laughs under the ice and snow; if the roses talk, they have to tell us a lot of funny stories... Anne is a bitter child. She won the love of Matthew and siblings with the kindness and effort of her own, and left her in the "green mountain wall". After several misunderstandings, everyone slowly liked the strong and optimistic Anne. Anne did not like the simple dress of his own, but soon he would be happy to imagine her skirt as a princess skirt with lace. Anne studied hard, and at last she was able to go to college with a scholarship. But at this time Matthew died, and Maria"s eyes were almost blind, so Anne dropped to college and left to teach to accompany Maria. Anne in the hard face of adversity, never complained, always put it all into a perfect fantasy, then happy mood. The cherry blossoms, the ponds, and all the scenes are perfectly perfect in her eyes, and she will always give a nice name. When he came to the green wall, Anne felt that he was the luckiest man in the world. She rewarded Matthew and siblings with a grateful heart, making Matthew and siblings feel happy never! She is willing to help others, like a happy bird, like the tinkling stream, like a spring breeze, always bring you a fresh feeling of happiness. Anne not only loves the fantasy, but also is optimistic, to the heart. In response to the unfortunate life and experience, she had no complaints, but was always smiling. Mary asked Anne before. "You are so poor, but why are you so happy?" Anne answered seriously: "life is like a mirror. If you smile at it, it will laugh at you. Instead of worrying about your face every day, you can live happily every day, so that I can make peace with my parents in the heavens." What an insightful view is this! That"s true of our lives! There is a Anne of many who are not the quality of gratitude: adoption Matthew stimulated sudden death, Mary graduated from the school hardly wished to live., Queen Anne to take care of another adopter -- at Marilla, put down the dream of self - stay in the University, Anvili taught, as Anne I said: "the future is like a straight road, the road is now turning, I believe there must be a very good scenery." After reading the book "Anne of Green Gables", I deeply condemned myself in my heart: I hated myself for not thinking about my parents, clamoring for my parents to buy books for me everyday. Thanksgiving, these two words like a hammer on each of our hearts, how many children at the moment know how to be grateful? Do not say gratitude to others, that is, parents, and few children have this kind of gratitude. Anne"s experience of growth will be a great inspiration and help to my life and study. First of all, a person must be self reliant and self reliant. Although Anne is an orphan, she doesn"t abandon herself to herself, but is brave enough to face reality. She has actively communicated with people, and has won many friends with her own actions. I am usually timid, I don"t dare to communicate with others, and I am not good at expressing my feelings. Reading Anne"s story makes me understand how to establish self-confidence and how to communicate with people so as to become a lively, cheerful and loving child. Second, to realize the dream must be perseverance and perseverance. Anne from a timid and overcautious orphans, through their own efforts, finally become an excellent teacher respected. I have not commented on the "three good" students for a long time. I was very sad and sad. Anne"s experience told me that the sky would not fall into the pie. No one could succeed arbitrarily. Without hard work, we could not reach the other side of success. From now on, I would like Anne to learn to overcome aimianzi, timid, insecure and other bad habits, I think as long as you pay, you must have the results, because You reap what you sow., through the tireless pursuit of the dream of three good student, I should be able to achieve.

Wordsworth"s list covers a range of the best-loved stories for children, from nursery tales, classic fables, and fairy tales to stories that will appeal to older children and adults alike. Many of these volumes have contemporary illustrations, and while they are ideal for shared family reading, their attractive format will also encourage children to read for themselves. Like all Wordsworth Editions, these children"s books represent unbeatable value. When the Cuthberts send to the orphanage for a boy to help them at their farm Green Gables, they are astonished when a talkative little girl steps off the train. Anne, an incurable romantic causes chaos at Green Gables and at the village, but her good nature endears her to the residents.Amazon.comWhen Marilla Cuthbert"s brother, Matthew, returns home to Green Gables with a chatty redheaded orphan girl, Marilla exclaims, "But we asked for a boy. We have no use for a girl." It"s not long, though, before the Cuthberts can"t imagine how they could ever do without young Anne of Green Gables--but not for the original reasons they sought an orphan. Somewhere between the time Anne "confesses" to losing Marilla"s amethyst pin (which she never took) in hopes of being allowed to go to a picnic, and when Anne accidentally dyes her hated carrot-red hair green, Marilla says to Matthew, "One thing"s for certain, no house that Anne"s in will ever be dull." And no book that she"s in will be, either. This adapted version of the classic, Anne of Green Gables, introduces younger readers to the irrepressible heroine of L.M. Montgomery"s many stories. Adapter M.C. Helldorfer includes only a few of Anne"s mirthful and poignant adventures, yet manages to capture the freshness of one of children"s literature"s spunkiest, most beloved characters. There"s just enough to make beginning readers want more--luckily, there"s a lot more in the originals! Illustrator Ellen Beier creates vibrant pictures to portray the beauty of the land around Green Gables and the spirited nature of Anne herself. (Ages 5 to 8)--Emilie CoulterFrom Library JournalThis version of Mongomery"s classic is illustrated with 14 beautiful color prints by artist Gabriella Dellosso. Though many cheaper editions are available, this is really quite nice for the price. From School Library JournalGrade 5-8-The nostalgic charm of Avonlea comes alive in Lucy Maud Montgomery"s heart-warming tale set on the quaint island of Prince William about an aging brother and sister, Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert, and their decision to adopt a young boy to help with chores around their farm. However, as the result of a misunderstanding the boy turns out to be a feisty, independent, and wildly imaginative redheaded girl named Anne. Marilla"s first reaction to this news is, "What use is she to us?" Wherein Mathew replies, "We might be of some use to her." Throughout this moving story these two statements mix and meld together so richly and completely that they become one truth. Three lives are changed so dramatically that none can imagine life without the others. Each new day brings a new set of adventures, often hilarious and always uplifting. Anne"s vivid and overactive imagination is the cause of many mishaps, but her saving grace is her heart of gold. Her best friend and "kindred spirit," Diana, and her handsome admirer, Gilbert Blythe, often find themselves unintentional victims of Anne"s escapades. Narrator Shelly Frasier"s pleasant voice is especially enjoyable during the rapid ramblings of Anne and as the soft-spoken, slow-paced Mathew. Her voice reflects the human qualities of each character, switching seamlessly between broken and despaired, curt and crisp, or dreamy and absent-minded. This perennial classic, divided into convenient three minute tracks and containing a short biography of the author, is a must have for expanding audiobook collections.Cheryl Preisendorfer, Twinsburg High School, OHFrom AudioFile[Editor"s Note: The following is a combined review with THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER.]--Imagination is key to both these classics. Young Anne ("Anne with an e"), adopted into a Prince Edward Island household, uses her imagination and determined spirit to fill her world with hopes and aspirations. And the "dreamings and readings" of the pauper Tom Canty set off the cascade of mistaken identities that comprise Twain"s famous tale. The St. Charles Players offer amusing adaptations of these stories with accessible, appealing performances. Here is family listening to entertain different ages and interests. The casts are a bit uneven, but each has some outstanding roles. These are not sophisticated productions, but the spirit of these classics is undaunted--like Anne of Green Gables herself. Anne of Green Gables

你好/Anne of Green Gables is a bestselling novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery published in 1908. Montgomery used a photograph of Evelyn Nesbit, clipped from an American magazine and pasted on the wall above her writing desk, as the model for Anne Shirley, the book"s main character.Since publication, Anne of Green Gables has sold more than 50 million books. In addition, this widely loved book is taught to students around the world.Plot summaryMarilla and Matthew Cuthbert, unmarried middle-aged siblings who live together at Green Gables, a farm in the town of Avonlea, on Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt a boy from an orphan asylum in Nova Scotia as a helper on their farm. Anne and Gilbert compete in class and Anne one day realizes she no longer hates Gilbert, but will not admit it.The book also follows her misadventures in quiet, old-fashioned Avonlea.
